Todd Phillips under fire from PETA for smoking monkey

It's not even out until May 27 but The Hangover: Part II is already coming under fire from officials at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) because the cigarette-puffing monkey.
The film was shot on location in Bangkok, Thailand and Crystal the capuchin monkey who previously worked with Ben Still in Night at the Museum was trained to smoke for certain scenes.
Director Todd Phillips told Total Film magazine "I wanted the monkey to smoke so we had to train her to. Now I have PETA after me because the monkey's become addicted to cigarettes. She was just shooting Cameron Crowe's movie We Bought A Zoo. And the monkey won't stop smoking."
The Hangover: Part II follows Phil, Stu, and Alan as they travel to Bangkok for Stu's wedding only to find themselves in another post-blackout misadventure, the sequel to the 2009 hit stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Liam Neeson, Juliette Lewis, Jamie Chung and Justin Bartha.
