Sky Movies Classics HD hosting a Screen Sirens season and celebrating Susan Sarandon's 65th birthday

September 29 2011

Sky Movies Classics HD are hosting a Screen Sirens season, dedicating an entire weekend to some of the most iconic beauties to have ever graced the silver screen, including sirens Grace Kelly, Rita Hayworth, Sophia Loren and Marilyn Monroe in some of their most celebrated roles.

One screen siren and Oscar® winning actress who actually gets a whole evening dedicated to celebrating her 65th birthday is Susan Sarandon. Sky Movies Drama & Romance HD are celebrating this milestone birthday with an evening of her movies, showcasing her diverse range and talent.

The evening begins with touching drama The Greatest, in which Sarandon stars alongside Pierce Brosnan as a bereaved mother struggling to come to terms with the loss of their son.

Following this we see Sarandon in another mother role in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, this time to a young trader who falls under the seductive influence of Gordon Gecko, played by Michael Douglas.

The celebration ends with a look back to one of the actress’ earlier films Pretty Baby, the historical fiction drama in which she stars as a prostitute living in a New Orleans brothel with her 12 year old daughter.
