Avengers Assemble babe Cobie Smulders joins Julianne Hough in Safe Haven

She can currently be seen as Maria Hill in Marvel's Avengers Assemble, and while Cobie Smulders is best known for her role of Robin Scherbatsky in long running television favourite How I Met Your Mother, the gorgeous Canadian actress has joined the cast of Nicholas Sparks's Safe Haven.
Safe Haven is the latest novel from Sparks to be adapted to the big screen, and follows a young woman named Katie (Julianne Hough) who moves to a small North Carolina town. As she tries to keep her past a secret, she falls for two local males.
Variety report that Smulders will play one of Katie's neighbours in the currently filming production with Lasse Hallström who directed Dear John calling the shots on this one with Transformers franchise star Josh Duhamel will play Alex.
This is the second role Smulders has nabbed, it was recently announced that she will join Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd in David Wain's comedy They Came Together as Rudd's girlfriend which is the story of a local business owner who could lose her store to a corporate development.
