Man of Steel General Christopher Meloni joins Paul Rudd in They Came Together

With the Zack Snyder directed Superman reboot Man of Steel currently in post production, Christopher Meloni who is famed for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has nabbed another role to add to his stacked plate in the form of rom-com They Came Together.

Yesterday, we reported that Avengers Assemble babe Cobie Smulders had joined the film that will see local business owner Molly (Amy Poehler) and corporate businessman Joel (Paul Rudd), go head to head as his company threatens to shut down Molly's shop.

The Hollywood Reporter report that Meloni will play Joel's boss, the CEO of CorporateCo Corporation and Co, Inc, with supporting roles for the likes of Ed Helms, Jason Mantzoukas, Noureen DeWulf, Max Greenfield and Michael Ian Black.

Meloni can be seen in the fifth season of phenomenal television favourite True Blood as one of the oldest vampires in existence, whom he describes as a "a big old baby".

He also has two films in the filming stage; Joel Surnow's drama Small Time with Bridget Moynahan and Brian Helgeland's biopic 42 with Indiana Jones icon Harrison Ford, both are expected in cinemas next year.

He returns to the big screen with Todd Sklar's comedy Awful Nice with Laura Ramsey which is currently in post production, and should arrive in cinemas some time this year.
