The Dark Knight Rises catwoman Anne Hathaway was somewhat overwhelmed by Christian Bale

Oscar nominee Anne Hathaway famed for the likes of The Devil Wears Prada, Alice in Wonderland and the The Princess Diaries films who will next be seen in the eagerly anticipated Christopher Nolan directed threequel The Dark Knight Rises has revealed that she was "somewhat overwhelmed" by working with Christian Bale.

The gorgeous Ella Enchanted actress tells SFX Magazine in a new interview that she was excited to work with Bale for the first time, but found the task at first a little daunting explaining "Here I am working with Christian Bale, and Chris Nolan is directing me and Wally Pfister is lighting me and I'm in a catsuit, it was somewhat overwhelming."

While it was daunting, the sought after actress further explained that both Nolan and Bale helped to ease her transition into the demanding role adding "I felt so lucky that most of my scenes were with Christian, because he's one of the world's greatest actors and he and Chris do have a shorthand.

They have such an ease working together that it helped me relax, especially in the early days."

The Dark Knight Rises opens in the UK and US on July 20 and features the all star cast of  Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Aidan Gillen, Juno Temple, Matthew Modine, Joey King, Nestor Carbonell, Brett Cullen, Burn Gorman, Michael Papajohn, Tom Conti and Chris Ellis. Meanwhile Hathaway recently wrapped filming Tom Hooper's musical adaptation of Les Misérables which is due to hit UK screens in January.
