Jason Statham says Expendables 2 is old school action

August 6 2012

The Expendables 2 explodes into cinemas on August 16, and action hero Jason Statham who returns as Lee Christmas in the Simon West directed sequel has explained that writer and star Sylvester Stallone was aiming for an "old school" action movie feel.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, The Mechanic and Crank franchise star said "What Sly's tried to do with this one is hark back to the old school way of making action films, and give it some good old testosterone from yesteryear."

Speaking about the screen time for action legends Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger who had cameos in the first film the Stath added "The big guys get to do their stuff. [Arnold] is a living legend and to get him to come and do something with Sly, and with Bruce, I mean that's never gonna happen again."

The Expendables 2 also features Jet Li, Terry Crews, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Liam Hemsworth and Charisma Carpenter.
