June 20 2013

Tim Burton has added another name to the stellar cast of Big Eyes in the form of Moonrise Kingdom's Jason Schwartzman.

The Wrap reports that Schwartzman joins Christoph Waltz, Amy Adams, Krysten Ritter and Danny Huston in the film that is based on the true story of Margaret and Walter Keane (Adams and Waltz), the couple responsible for the pictures of large-eyed children that became a sensation in the '50's and '60's.

Domineering Walter claimed credit for the works until a legal battle in which his former wife revealed that she had created all the paintings.

Schwartzman is set to play a gallery owner called Ruben and will next be seen in Saving Mr Banks ; the tale of Walt Disney's Mary Poppins adaptation alongside Emma Thompson and reunites with frequent collaborator Wes Anderson on The Grand Budapest Hotel.
