Kate Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail on November 3, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas. She began working as a special education teacher before moving to New York to embark on an acting career. In 1991, Capshaw married film director Steven Spielberg after they met on the set of the film, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Between them, they have seven children.
