Rachel Hurd-Wood was born on the 17th of August 1990, Surrey, England, she made her acting debut at the age of 13 in Peter Pan opposite Jeremy Sumpter. She was chosen for the part after attending and open casting session, before that her only acting experience was in a few school plays but she landed the role of "Wendy Darling" after a three continent search for the right girl. Her performance got her nominated for a Saturn Award and a Young Artist Award.
Her reaction to her first acting experience was "so that was just, incredible, I never thought that I'd get it, I really didn't. I still can't believe it - you know, it just seems so weird, and seeing it up on the big screen. I kind of disassociate the finished product to when we were actually filming because the two seem so different."
Her next role was in the television movie Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking for the BBC, she played Imogen. her next film was An American Haunting playing "Betsy Bell" the movie is based on true events validated by the State of Tennessee of the only case in US History where a spirit or entity caused the death of a man. She also played 'Laure Richis' in Perfume: The Story of a Murderer. She wil be seen next as'Meredith Crowthorn' in Solomon Kane to be release later this year.
