THE MAN WHO PASSES THE SENTENCE SHOULD SWING THE SWORD: OnBuy.com Reveal Brits Want GAME OF THRONES To Reunite The Most
Even after the disappointing finale, 30,000+ fans want to see more Game of Thrones!
Games of Thrones BEATS Friends and Gavin and Stacey for “reunion” Google searches!
Since they announced they were no longer “on a break” 33,000+ fans search “Friends” every month!
I won’t lie to you, the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special encouraged 8,000+ fans to Google the show!
Brits still want more from iconic TV shows like Breaking Bad, Gossip Girl and Modern Family!
Naturally, everyone went crazy when it was announced a Friends reunion is happening (that’s right, soon, the entire cast will no longer be on a break!) Since then, it’s rumoured the Desperate Housewives cast and the gang from Parks and Recreation will be coming together too. This got British marketplace OnBuy.com thinking which of the world’s most popular TV shows do we really want back for a new series!
Methodology
To find out, OnBuy.com analysed Google search volumes using the keyword analytics section of online visibility and marketing tool SEM Rush. For each of the 30 TV shows analysed, a variety of keywords were taken into consideration – such as the show title followed by “reunion”, “new series” and “new season” – to maximise results!
Highlights
OnBuy.com’s research can reveal Game of Thrones is the TV show Brits want back! The Game of Thrones finale was surrounded by a lot of controversy, which could explain why over 30,000 people a month (34,990 to be exact) Google the show to ask if a reunion or new series is in the works. Clearly many GOT fans do not feel satisfied with how the show ended.
GOT just pips Friends to the post! Since the famous 6 announced a special IS in the works, Friends has seen a resurgence in interest from devoted fans old and new. In fact, 33,150 people on average a month Google the show to find out more about a reunion or possible new series. Proving it really is “The One Where” the whole world is obsessed!
Likewise, last year’s surprise Gavin and Stacey Christmas special reignited our love affair with the British sitcom. So much so that 8,510 people on average a month check Google to see what’s occurring in regard to a reunion or possible new series.
Breaking Bad and Gossip Girl make the top 5.
Of less interest are TV shows like The OC (180 monthly searches), The X-Files (150 monthly searches), The West Wing (150 monthly searches), 30 Rock (130 monthly searches) and Cheers (50 monthly searches).
