"one of the best of its genre and much better than expected"

An amazing 50 years after the creation of 'Alvin and the Chipmunks', it still makes you smile to hear them sing. I wasn't expecting much, just a Sunday afternoon film that would get me in the festive spirit. It did just that bit more. The CGI and live action was very well done.

Although the storyline was predictable, it was full of joyful humour. My only criticism is that the 92 mins felt a little long for kids and there are possibly one too many fart jokes for adults. Otherwise it is watchable and the chipmunks are even lovable.

Personally I think the trailer gave away too much about the film. However, it's one of the best of its genre and was much better than expected.
