Set in '70s, the story follows the childhood of Chane Willis (Sobieski) as she grows up in Paris with her expatriate family. When the family returs to Long Islands, Channe - just hitting puberty - feels like an outsider. She must strive to find her identity. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Kaylie Jones.
