Based on Robert Bloch's novelization of an actual murder, this remake of the Hitchcock classic is an audacious undertaking as one has to consider how to "improve" upon a film that's an icon in its genre. As producer Brian Grazer says about the film's director, "There are only a few filmmakers in the world who can get away with it, and Gus is one of them." The story, in case you don't know, has a fleeing thief stop off at the Bates Motel where she meets a creepy guy who's a little too fond of his mother and unwisely decides to take a shower.
