Adapted from John Boyne's best-selling novel, THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS is a fictional story told through the eves of an eight year old boy largely shielded from the reality of World War II. This unforgettable tale follows a forbidden friendship that forms between Bruno, the son of a Nazi commandant, and Shmuel, a Jewish boy held captive in a concentration camp. Though the two are separated physically by a barbed-wire fence, their friendship grows and their lives become inescapably intertwined.

THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS features an impressive cast including David Thewlis (Harry Potter, Naked), Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Breaking and Entering) and Rupert Friend (The Libertine, Pride and Prejudice), and introduces Asa Butterfield as Bruno and Jack Scalon as Shmuel. The film is produced by David Heyman (Harry Potter) and adapted for the screen and directed by Mark Herman (Little Voice, Brassed Off).
