Selena Gomez says 50 Shades of Grey role isn't for her
June 15 2012
While there are many actresses attached to the coveted lead role in the big screen adaptation of the erotic novel 50 Shades of Grey, Monte Carlo babe Selena Gomez has insisted the role is not for her.
The Wizards of Waverly Place hottie recently starred in the spoof Fifty Shades of Blue for Funny or Die and tells MTV News that the upcoming film is too risqué for her. "I know I'm taking risks with new roles, but I don't think I could do that. That would be a little too much for me. I think someone older should do that part."
Gomez who will next be heard as Mavis in Adam Sandler's Hotel Transylvania said she enjoyed reading passages of Fifty Shades of Grey in preparation for her parody sketch adding "I only read the beginning of it, because when they told me about the skit, I didn't know what it was about. So I started to read it, and I was like, 'Oh, this is spicy'. So I thought it was good, it was intriguing."
Gomez is currently filming Getaway from directing duo Courtney Solomon and Yaron Levy alongside Ethan Hawke and has Nicolás López' Aftershock with Eli Roth and Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers with Vanessa Hudgens in post production.
