Don Cheadle explains tension in Iron Man 3

July 27 2012

With The Dark Knight Rises is finally out and it was one of the most anticipated films of this year, the superhero film slate for next year is looking to be amazing, and one of the first films out of the gate will be the third instalment to Marvel's Iron Man.

Don Cheadle who returns as James Rhodes aka War Machine in the Shane Black directed sequel tells MTV News that there will be tension between his Rhodey and Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark over his armour explaining "We've got a private sector and a public sector, or rather a military version of Iron Man, and I think there is a desire from the powers that be to make sure that those things are distinguished and distinguishable so that we know where everybody stands.

I think that's kind of the tension that is created for Tony and for Rhodey, because like who's really got the stick, and who really gets to decide what happens in certain situations? And that's what will be a lot of fun to explore in this film too."

It was thought back in June that the Iron Patriot would appear in the film, this was quickly refuted as War Machine's new armour design.

Iron Man 3 comes to UK screens on April 26 2013 and is currently filming featuring the star studded cast of Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Guy Pearce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Paul Bettany, Jon Favreau, William Sadler, Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, Ty Simpkins.
