Ben Affleck approached to direct The Justice League for Warner Bros.

August 8 2012

It would appear that Warner Bros/DC Comics are serious about bringing The Justice League to the big screen, word is that the first director they have approached is none other than Ben Affleck.

The Justice League would bring together superheroes including Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow and The Flash in one film much like the record breaking Avengers Assemble from Marvel and Disney.

Variety report that Warner Bros/DC Comics had hoped that The Dark Knight trilogy director Christopher Nolan who is also overseeing Zack Snyder's Man of Steel would be creatively involved, however Nolan has expressed his wish to stay out of any potential Justice League film so the studio approached Affleck.

Affleck scored a surprise hit with his 2010 crime thriller The Town and is currently putting the finishing touches to his Argo which comes to cinemas in October.

Affleck previously said he would only direct films he starred in, so that begs the question; who in the Justice League could he be, if anyone?

The Justice League will reportedly go toe to toe with Marvel's sequel to Avengers Assemble in 2015.
