Christopher Mintz-Plasse excited to return to Kick-Ass world

August 11 2012

With filming of the hotly anticipated sequel to Kick-Ass imminent, Christopher Mintz-Plasse who reprises his role of super villain Red Mist has spoken of his excitement to return to the superhero world.

Mintz-Plasse who is known for his roles in Superbad, Role Models and Fright Night promised that the follow up will live up to its predecessor telling Collider "It's super-violent and bloody and funny and it's got a great cast. I'm really excited. I fly out to London in a week to get started... on rehearsals and wardrobe and stuff and then I think we start shooting September.

It's going to be busy because I'm flying back and forth because I'm shooting a show for CBS as well, so I'll be shooting a couple of weeks September, fly back, go out again in October for like a week, come back, and then go out again in November for a couple of weeks."

Addressing the issue surrounding the age of Chloe Moretz's Hit-Girl, Mintz-Plasse added "I had no idea if [the sequel] was going to happen, it didn't seem like it, especially now that Chloe is like, what, is she 37 now? But no, they wrote an incredible script.

I think she's going into 9th grade in this which is really smart. They didn't keep her 11 as she was in the first one. They kind of aged it up a bit."

The sequel to Kick-Ass which received its teaser title artwork earlier this week will see Jeff Wadlow at the helm, while Matthew Vaughn who directed the first outing has penned the script with Wadlow.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson returns as Dave Lizewski aka Kick-Ass while Nicolas Cage is rumoured to return in a cameo capacity as Damon Macready aka Big Daddy, if the rumours are true he will likely show up during the first act of the film which is believed to be based on Mark Miller's Hit-Girl spin off.

As for Mintz-Plasse he will be heard as Alvin in the September release of ParaNorman followed by the October release of Pitch Perfect both films also feature Up In The Air Oscar nominee Anna Kendrick.
