First plot details for Marvel's Gauardians of the Galaxy emerge
August 17 2012
While Marvel Studios officially announced the release date for the sequel to Joss Whedon's Avengers Assemble as May 1 2015, the first plot details for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy have been revealed.
Spinoff report that a brief logline on several film industry databases have hinted that Major Victory will serve as the audience's entry point to the cosmic adventure.
Apparently the film is about a US pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants.
In Marvel Comics lore Major Victory is an airforce pilot named Vance Astro, who becomes the first man to volunteer for a deep space mission, existing in suspended animation for 1,000 years before joining with a group of human and alien freedom fighters.
While it is unclear which precious object the Guardians may have in the film, but it is being speculated that it could be one of Marvel's MacGuffins that we have already seen like the Cosmic Cube or something new, only time will tell.
Guardians of the Galaxy will fit into Marvel's Phase 2 of their Avengers Initiative, debuting on August 1 2014.
