August 19 2012
Plot details for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy were revealed earlier this week and now it seems that Mavel have set their sights on the director to bring it to the big screen in the form of James Gunn.
Accoording to The Hollywood Reporter, executives are in negotiations with the Slither and Super director to bring the property to life on the big screen, however it looks as though the studio are eyeing Half Nelson directors Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, as well as Bring It On director Peyton Reed to helm the project as well in case talks with Gunn don't go according to plan.
This follows news earlier this month that suggested that writer Chris McCoy has been chosen to pen the adaptation, though no official announcement has been made.
Guardians of the Galaxy will fit into Marvel's "Phase 2" of their Avengers Initiative which will potentially see the Guardians appear in Joss Whedon's eagerly awaited 2015 sequel to Avengers Assemble.
