September 27 2012

With Frankenweenie opening the 56th BFI London Film Festival on October 10,Winona Ryder has praised Tim Burton, going so far as to credit the director for her success.

Frankenweenie marks a reunion of Ryder and Burton since the Johnny Depp starring Edward Scissorhands of the 1990's and talking to Flicks & Bits the Black Swan actress said "I've known Tim Burton for 25 years, and I credit him with my career. I really mean that."

Reminiscing about her first meeting with Burton for the Michael Keaton starring Beetle Juice, Ryder added "This guy came in and started talking about movies and music, and 25 minutes later I was like, 'When is this Tim Burton guy coming?' And he was like, 'That's me!'

And I was like, 'Oh!' I had no idea that a director could actually be so cool and I could easily hang out with them, you know?"

Frankenweenie opens across the UK on October 17 and features the voice talents  of Ryder, Keaton, Catherine O'Hara, Jeffrey Jones, Martin Landau, Martin Short and Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise star Robert Capron.
