RoboCop legend and 80's action icon Peter Weller has officially backed José Padilha's currently filming remake.
The screen icon portrayed Alex Murphy in the 1986 original and its sequel and said he wishes Padilha and his team well, but suggested they have their work cut out for them living up to the Paul Verhoeven version.
Weller is no stranger to remakes, he will be seen in J.J. Abrams's Star Trek sequel which carries the rumoured title of Star Trek Into Darkness on May 17 next year.
