Ryan Reynolds set to star in Jon Favreau's Battle for Bonneville

He currently has The Croods, Turbo and R.I.P.D. in post production, but that hasn't stopped Ryan Reynolds from adding another film to his plate.

Deadline report that Reynolds is attached to star in Battle for Bonneville which will see him unite with Iron Man franchise director Jon Favreau for the film that has New Regency in final negotiations to acquire the film.

Based on a true story, Battle for Bonneville follows half-brother drag racing enthusiasts Art and Walt Arfons who built their own racer 'The Green Monster' together, and after a stint as rivals, united to break the world land speed record three times.

The Bourne Legacy scribe Dan Gilroy is on writing duty and Favreau is expected to tackle Battle for Bonneville after completing Jersey Boys.

As for Reynolds he will next be seen in the aforementioned R.I.P.D. with Tron: Legacy's Jeff Bridges when it comes to cinemas next year.
