Ben Whishaw says Skyfall's Q is like Mark Zuckerberg

October 24 2012

The 23rd 007 adventure, Skyfall hits cinemas from Friday and following its Royal Premiere last night at London's Royal Albert Hall, Ben Whishaw who takes on the role of Q has compared his character to Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg.

Whishaw takes over the role of Bond's quartermaster in Skyfall, following in the footsteps of Monty Python's John Cleese and Alec McCowen and describes his incarnation as "slicker" telling Digital Spy "I'm so much younger than the character has been traditionally played, he had to be real as a young man.

I think the writers did a brilliant job of finding this Mark Zuckerberg, computer hacker, genius person who feels sort of familiar to us now in our culture. That's where so much of our lives happen now, on the internet and cyberspace.

It felt great to reinvent the character in that place."

Skyfall opens nationwide on Friday October 26 and features the stellar cast of Bérénice Marlohe, Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Albert Finney, Helen McCrory and Tonia Sotiropoulou.
