Date of Birth : Nov 30th 1964

Richard was born in Ystrad Mynach, South Wales on November 30th, 1964.  His family emigrated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1967.  Where he learned to play baseball and speak with a southern accent.  He grew up in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Birmingham (England), and Ohio.  

He graduated from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio and Duke University.  His first ever acting role was as Judge Danforth in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible while a student at W.R.A. in 1982.  

He studied acting in New York at the Michael Chekhov Studio under Jim Boerlin and Beatrice Straight.  He also studied in London at The Mountview Theatre School and the School for the Science of Acting under esteemed acting teacher Sam Kogan.

His first feature film role was opposite Brad Dourif in the cult classic Death Machine.  During the late 80’s and early 90’s, Richard acted in numerous off-off Broadway and Fringe productions in New York and London.  

Richard spent a number of years living and working in Los Angeles and New York, finally moving back to London in late 2001.  Shortly after returning to London, he appeared on stage at the Almeida Theatre in Camera Obscura directed by legendary stage director Jonathan Miller.  Later that year he played a small role in Anthony Minghella’s Cold Mountain.
