127 Hours Oscar hopeful James Franco approached for Linda Lovelace biopic

26 January 2011

He's in high demand at the moment, James Franco who stars as Aron Ralston in tthe Oscar nominated 127 Hours has reportedly been approached for the Linda Lovelace biopic.

For those that don't know, Lovelace is the biopic of infamous porn legend Linda Lovelace that Howl directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are putting together.

Franco is extremely busy at the moment, what with doing the promotional rounds for the upcoming releases of Your Highness and Howl. He will also be co hosting the Oscars when they roll around on February 27.

As for the biopic, the script is written by William Merritt Johnson based on Eric Danville’s book The Complete Linda Lovelace. Traynor’s relationship with his wife was stormy – he was a pornographer at the time she made Deep Throat and years later, after quitting the business and talking about her past, she accused him of bullying her into porn and prostitution through a number of unsavoury methods.

However, according to reports both Linda Lovelace biopics (the other being the one starring the gorgeous Malin Akerman) are having trouble locking in funding so if Franco joined the cast it may help edge the film closer to production.
