500 Days of Summer director is reportedly being lined up direct the reboot of Spider-Man.
Following director Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire's departure after three successful films, Sony Pictures has decided to reboot the franchise, much like Warner Bros did, with stunning results, with Batman Begins.
According to Deadline, Marc Webb has met up with Sony to discuss the possibility of directing the new version. It seems Sony are sounding out Webb after they were impressed with how he depicted American youth in last year's romantic comedy hit. And seeing as Jamie Vanderbilt's script follows Peter Parker in High School, Webb seems the perfect choice.
