Tristan Loraine's powerful crime drama A Girl Called Alice continues its award-winning festival journey, taking home Best Short Film while star Tegan Muggeridge was recognised with the Best Actress award at the I AM Film Festival.
A Girl Called Alice has added another impressive milestone to its growing list of accolades after a successful showing at the I AM Film Festival, where the film was recognised across multiple categories.
The film took home Best Short Film, while leading actress Tegan Muggeridge received the Best Actress award for her heartfelt performance as Alice. Co-star Antonio Akeel was also honoured with the Best Actor award, while director Tristan Loraine received an Honourable Mention for Best Director.
Sharing the news on social media, the filmmakers thanked the festival for the recognition, writing:
"Thank you I AM Film Festival for having us!"
The latest success continues an impressive festival run for A Girl Called Alice, which has resonated with audiences thanks to its timely story and important social message surrounding mobile phone theft and its impact on victims.
Directed and produced by Tristan Loraine, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Tegan Muggeridge, the short features a talented ensemble cast including Rita Ramnani, Glenn Scraggs, JiaJia Green, Steven Cooke, Wayne Edge, David Monteath, Tomi May, Omar Mostafa, Georgina Spencer, Brubie, Tyler Moore, Ozlem Green and many more.

Behind the camera, the production was brought to life by director of photography Ed White, with music by Emma Fitzherbert, editing by Tristan Loraine, and support from a dedicated crew whose work has helped elevate the film throughout its festival journey.
The Fan Carpet has proudly followed A Girl Called Alice from production through to its festival success. Earlier this year, we spoke with Tegan Muggeridge about the inspiration behind the project and its mission to raise awareness of phone theft in partnership with Crimestoppers and EE.
Seeing the film continue to connect with festival audiences while receiving recognition for its performances and filmmaking is thoroughly deserved and a testament to the passion of everyone involved.
Congratulations to Tegan Muggeridge, Tristan Loraine, Antonio Akeel, the cast, crew and the entire A Girl Called Alice team on another fantastic achievement. We look forward to seeing where the film's award-winning journey takes it next.
