Acclaimed Actor John Goodman joins Mark Wahlberg in Boston Marathon Bombings Thriller Patriots Day

He returns to Cinemas this week with Dan Trachtenberg’s 10 Cloverfield Lane and word is that acclaimed Actor John Goodman has joined Mark Wahlberg in Boston Marathon bombing flick Patriots Day!

Variety report that Goodman is set to star alongside Wahlberg and new Commissioner Gordon Actor J.K. Simmons in Patriots Day, a film that chronicling the events surrounding the Boston Marathon bombing.

The tragedy happened on April 15 2013 when two pressure cooker bombs exploded during the race, killing three people and injuring more than 200. The attack resulted in a city-wide manhunt for the two suspects.

It is reported that Goodman will take on the role of former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis, who worked with the FBI and several police departments in Massachusetts in tracking and arresting those involved, Patriots Day will be directed by Lone Survivors helmer Peter Perg and is set to arrive on December 21, based on Davis's account of that tragic event.

Goodman who was last seen alongside Bryan Cranston in Trumbo, has Kevin Munroe and Jericca Cleland’s Ratchet and Clank ready for release on April 28 and Going Under from filmmakers Mark and Robb Cullen and David Leitch’s The Coldest City in post production as well as filming Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ Kong: Skull Island and is also lending his distinct voice to Luc Besson’s Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
