Amy Adams and Paul Giamatti wanted for Rock of Ages

The cast of Adam Shankman's Rock of Ages is coming together quite nicely, what with the already confirmed cast of Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Mary J Blige, Julianne Hough and Russell Brand.
Now it seems the director is looking to find a singing partner for Tom Cruise's Stacee Jaxx in the shapely form of the delious Amy Adams.
If she signs onto the film, she will play Constance Sack, a cynical music journalist who is out to take down rocker Stacee Jaxx a peg or two, but ultimately ends up falling for his charms. Rock of Ages follows a small town girl (Hough) who arrives in Hollywood at the height of the 1980's rock music scene.
Adams isn’t the only actor now circling the film, with Paul Giamatti said to be in talks with New Line to take the role of Paul Gill, a music executive who lays on the smarm. Filming of Rock of Ages is expected to start in May with a 2012 release.
Adams can currently be seen in The Fighter and will next be seen in The Muppets on 17 February 2012 which sees Kermit the Frog and his muppet pals put on a show to save their old theatre.
Giamatti can currently be seen in Ironclad and will next be seen in the Thomas McCarthy comedy Win Win which follows disheartened attorney Mike Flaherty (Giamatti), who moonlights as a high school wrestling coach, stumbles across a star athlete through some questionable business dealings while trying to support his family. Just as it looks like he will get a double payday, the boy's mother shows up fresh from rehab and flat broke, threatening to derail everything.
