Annabel Spinks-Jones Appointed Curator as The Fan Carpet Announces the Launch of TFC: Poetry Corner
The Fan Carpet is delighted to announce the launch of TFC: Poetry Corner, a brand new section dedicated to celebrating poetry and creative writing from both established and aspiring writers.
Curated by Annabel Spinks-Jones, Poetry Corner has been created as a welcoming space for writers to share their work with a wider audience while encouraging creativity across all ages and experience levels.
The new section launches with a look back at one of The Fan Carpet co-founder Marc Jason Ali's earliest creative projects: a short collage animation inspired by the classic nonsense poem One Fine Day. Produced more than twenty years ago as part of a Multimedia Design animation module, the short has been preserved in its original format as an archive of that student project.

Inspired by the stop-motion work of legendary animator Ray Harryhausen, the animation reimagines the poem's two dead men as skeletons, embracing the playful contradictions that have made the traditional verse a favourite for generations.
While the launch feature celebrates a piece of The Fan Carpet's own creative history, the ambition for Poetry Corner reaches far beyond that.
The Fan Carpet is inviting poets and creative writers from around the world to submit their original work for consideration, helping to build a community where creativity can be shared, discovered and celebrated.
Whether you're an experienced poet, a student finding your voice or someone who simply enjoys writing, Poetry Corner aims to provide a platform for original work and fresh perspectives.
As The Fan Carpet continues to expand beyond film, television and theatre coverage, Poetry Corner represents another step in supporting creativity in all its forms.
If you'd like to have your poetry featured, we'd love to hear from you.
