Anne Hathaway Geeks out at the LA Rio premiere

Anne Hathaway may be one of the most beautiful and celebrated actresses in the world, and as we saw from her appearance at the Oscars, she's not afraid of acting the clown, as these pictures of the actress at the LA Rio premiere on Sunday show.

Wearing a beautiful purple dress and shoes by Gucci, the 28 year old accessorized with a geeky pair of glasses, whether this is a fashion statement or whether Anne has actually dodgy vision, remains to be seen (no pun intended) but she still rocked them!

'Rio' is the story of Blu, a rare macaw living with his owner in Minnesota who is shocked to discover that he is the last remaining male bird of his kind. In order to avoid extinction, Blu and his owner take a trip to Rio de Janeiro where he will meet with a female macaw.
However, when the two birds are united they are unexpectedly kidnapped and must find their way back to their owners.

Hathaway, who provides the voice of Jewel, Blu's female companion, says she loved the simple message of the film and the people behind the story.

'The story of a young bird who learns how to fly, I thought it was very sweet and it really appealed to me and thought it would appeal to other people,' said Hathaway. 'And of course, I was such a fan of Carlos and I love Fox Animation and thought this could actually be a wonderful team to bring this story to life.'
