Anne Hathaway’s representative denies crash diet reports

01 April 2012

While it was recently reported that Hollywood leading lady Anne Hathaway was undertaking a dangerous crash diet for Les Misérables, it seems that the reports have been exaggerated.

While it was said that The Dark Knight Rises actress was said to be on a 500-calories-a-day diet in order to portray a frail Fantine, her representative has denied the claims explaining "She is losing weight for the part, but not that much, just enough for her to look more frail, as she is playing a dying prostitute.

She is consuming more than 500 calories. The tabloids are making something of nothing, as usual."

Les Misérables comes to UK screens on January 11 next year and features the stellar cast of Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen and Eddie Redmayne.

Hathaway will next be seen as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises on July 20 alongside Christian Bale and Tom Hardy.
