Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn’t approve of how Paramount Pictures used James Cameron’s Terminator: Genisys endorsement
Action legend Arnold Schwarzenegger who can currently be seen in his iconic role as the T-800 in Terminator: Genisys, has spoken out about Paramount using James Cameron's endorsement to market the latest instalment in the hugely popular franchise.
James Cameron's emphatic endorsement of Terminator: Genisys is the seal of approval many fans need to head out to watch the latest instalment, but Schwarzenegger said that Terminator: Genisys is good enough to stand on its own without relying on Cameron, who had no creative involvement in the fifth entry in the Terminator series telling Collider "I do not like the idea that the studio went out and used it as a promotional material for the movie because I always felt that if you do that, it looks kind of like you need James Cameron to say something good about the movie.
Which we don't, because the movie is a straight 10, it's a fantastic movie."
Schwarzenegger admitted that he was grateful for Cameron for taking the time to watch the latest Terminator and share with him his views. "I think that it was a great kind of a experience in a way to have James Cameron call me and say, 'I just saw the movie', because I had no idea he was going to go and see the movie, He said, 'You're fantastic in it, and if I would have done this movie I would have done exactly this story, because now you're going in a different direction', and he was complimenting the movie and complimenting me."
Directed by Alan Taylor, Terminator: Genisys opened last week to mixed reviews and features Emilia Clarke, Byung-hun Lee, Courtney B. Vance, J.K. Simmons, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Sandrine Holt and Doctor Who alumni Matt Smith.
