Avatar outfoxes Sherlock Holmes

Avatar continues its reign at the US box office after seeing off Sherlock Holmes.
The sci-fi action epic recorded only a 2 per cent drop from last week's takings - an extremely impressive number. It has made £47 million over the last seven days in the US - taking its box office total in the country to £133 million.
The James Cameron film impressed worldwide as well - taking nearly £91 million over the last seven days.
Despite losing out on the top spot, Guy Ritchie's version of Sherlock Holmes still took an impressive haul of £40 million.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel was a brand new entry in third place, while It's Complicated and Up In The Air rounded out the top five.
