Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s Ben Affleck confirmed to write, direct and star in the eagerly awaited Batman solo outing
It’s been the worst kept secret in Hollywood, but bringing an end to all of the rumours, it has been confirmed by Studio chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara that acclaimed filmmaker Ben Affleck will direct the eagerly awaited Batman solo outing.
The Oscar winner debuted as the caped crusader in the divisive Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and after Tsujihara credited the directors of other upcoming DCEU films; Zack Snyder for The Justice League and Patty Jenkins for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, at CinemaCon in Las Vegas he said “I’m also excited we’ll be working with filmmakers like Ben Affleck in a standalone Batman.”
No release date has been set for the Batman solo outing but we do know that Affleck will write, direct and star in the eagerly awaited DC Comics adaptation.
Affleck’s Batman was very well received when he debuted in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with many hailing Affleck as the definitive Batman.
Affleck returns to Cinemas with Suicide Squad this August and alongside Anna Kendrick in Gavin O'Connor’s The Accountant this November and his next directorial effort Live by Night is in post production and is expected in Cinemas next year.
