Ben Stiller replaces Russell Brand in Rentaghost big screen outing

It looks as though there has been a changing of the guard with the upcoming Rentaghost big screen outing with Prime Time Emmy award winner Ben Stiller reportedly replacing Russell Brand in the kids television adaptation.
The film was first conceived at Warner Bros. and intending to star Russell Brand, but after the box office take for Arthur wasn't as they had hoped the film fell a part.
Now it seems the 20th Century Fox are calling the shots and are looking to re team Stiller with his Night at the Museum writers Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant.
While the new script is said to bring things bang up to date with Stiller reported to play an American consultant drafted in to help the failing fortunes of the business, the original series ran that on BBC One in 1976 through to 1984 focused on the misadventures of a company that provided spooks for specific hauntings.
Stiller will produce with his Red Hour Films alongside Fox, and all involved are likely hoping for the same level of success as the Night at the Museum franchise.
Stiller will next be seen in the November 4 release of Brett Ratner's Tower Heist with an all star cast including Eddie Murphy, Matthew Broderick, Téa Leoni, Casey Affleck, Michael Peña, Alan Alda, Gabourey Sidibe and Judd Hirsch.
