Benedict Cumberbatch isn’t reuniting with JJ Abrams for Star Wars: Episode VII
Following the rumours that Star Trek Into Darkness villain Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast as the antagonist in Star Wars: Episode VII, a representative of the sought after British actor have quashed the claims.
Speaking to NY Daily News, the rep said "There is no truth to the rumour Benedict has been cast in Star Wars.
I think the rumours are circling because JJ and Benedict have just recently had a wonderful time working together on Star Trek."
Alex Pettyfer and Rachel Hurd-Wood are the latest actors to be linked to roles in the high profile Disney sequel, which is expected to see original trilogy stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher return to their respective roles.
Cumberbatch recently dropped out of Guillermo del Toro's horror Crimson Peak and returns to cinemas with WikiLeaks biopic The Fifth Estate on October 11.
