Billie Piper set to take Belle De Jour to the big Screen

14 June 2010

It is being reported tha Billie Piper could be set to transform her hit TV series 'Secret Diary Of A Call Girl' into a film.

The series chronicles the exploits of 'Belle De Jour' (named after the 1967 Catherine Deneuve film, and later revealed to be academic scientist Brooke Magnanti) a university-educated professional struggling to make ends meet in London, and resorting to the life of a high-class escort to earn a bit of extra location allowance. Cue much "romping".

Filming of its fourth series is about to start, and in an interview Billie Piper said "I'm about to start filming the fourth series and then that will be it, "I'm not sure it has legs past four seasons so we're trying to develop a movie."

Sources say  "The book has been a worldwide success and the TV show has been a hit on both sides of the Atlantic. A movie is the next obvious step. Billie's career would skyrocket if the movie took off. It's the springboard she needs to take her talent to the States."

Could Billie be set to follow in the footsteps of husband Laurence Fox?
