Birdman’s Michael Keaton rumoured for the villain role of The Vulture in Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming
With the announcement that the Marvel and Sony collaboration of Spider-Man will carry the title of Spider-Man: Homecoming, it has been reported that acclaimed Actor Michael Keaton is being looked at for the role of the villain of the story.
While Sony have not confirmed or denied the reports, Deadline report that the Batman and Birdman star is in early talks to return to the superhero genre as the main villain; Adrian Toomes aka the Vulture.
Directed by Cop Car helmer Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming is due in Cinemas as part of Marvel’s Phase 3 on July 28 next year and features Tom Holland as the titular hero with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Disney Channel favourite Zendaya as Michelle.
Holland makes his debut as the webslinger in Joe and Anthony Russo’s Captain America: Civil War on April 29.
