Boom Clap Musical sensation Charli XCX set to voice Willow in Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly’s The Angry Birds Movie
With Rovio favourite Angry Birds coming to the big screen this May, it has been announced that Musical sensation Charli XCX will be lending her voice to Willow.
Taking to Twitter, Producer John Cohen made the announcement, and posted a photo of the character, at this point we don’t know if she’ll be singing as Willow, but with just over a month to go until release, we don’t have long to wait long to find out.
The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We’re the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.
With the voice talents of Bill Hader, Danny McBride, Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Maya Rudolph and Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Ike Barinholtz, Tituss Burgess, Blake Shelton Game of Thrones favourite Peter Dinklage, The Angry Birds Movie hits Cinemas on May 13.
