22 January 2010

Danny Boyle is set to direct Frankenstein on the West End.

The Slumdog Millionaire director is to take a break from making movies, and will direct the a stage production of the famous gothic story at London's National Theatre. It will mark a return for Boyle on the stage - before he hit it big in Hollywood he directed numerous theatre productions in the 80s and 90s.

Director of the National Theatre, Sir Nicholas Lyter, said, "Danny first talked about this eight years ago, and it has taken him eight years. He said he was coming back to the theatre after being 'distracted' by 15 years of filmmaking.
