Brie Larson and Leonardo DiCaprio win BIG at the 88th Academy Awards with Spotlight named Best Picture

The 88th Academy Awards took place last night hosted by the one and only Chris Rock and saw Leonardo DiCaprio finally took home the gold for Best Actor for his performance in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenant. The film also earned Iñárritu the Best Director accolade.

Brie Larson took home the Oscar for Best Actress for her acclaimed role in Room whilst Alicia Vikander picked up the Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Danish Girl!

Mad Max: Fury Road took 6 wins including Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing and Best Editing and the Michael Keaton and Mark Ruffalo starring Spotlight won the big prize of the night, the Best Picture Award with Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out took home the Award for Best Animation.
