The National Film Academy have unveiled the official nominees for the highly anticipated 9th annual National Film Awards with Terri Dwyer's debut as a Producer THE STRANGER IN OUR BED amongst the nominees! 

The nominees, featuring a stellar line up of talented individuals, films, and TV series, have been announced, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening of recognition and celebration. Leading the pack are several prominent names that are sure to capture headlines. Kate Bosworth, Lily James, and Olivia Coleman are among the remarkable actresses vying for the coveted Best Actress award, showcasing their extraordinary talent in films such as “Last Sentinel,” “What’s Love Got To Do With It?,” and “Empire of Light.” On the other side, the fierce competition in the Best Actor category includes Lucien Laviscount, Jason Statham, and Taron Egerton, who delivered stellar performances in “Last Sentinel,” “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre,” and “Tetris,” respectively. Excitingly, numerous nominees and films find themselves going head-to-head in multiple categories, amplifying the anticipation surrounding the awards ceremony. Films such as “Last Sentinel,” “Rye Lane,” and “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre” have received nominations across various categories, highlighting their exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

 

 

Additionally, the Best Actress in a TV Series category features an intense battle between talented individuals, including Máiréad Tyers for “Extraordinary,” Jennifer Metcalfe for “Hollyoaks,” and India Amarteifio for “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.” Similarly, the Best Actor in a TV Series category presents a thrilling competition, with Richard Blackwood, Penn Badgley, and Nick Pickard contending for the award.

In the Best Supporting Actor category, Asim Chaudhry, Simon Manyonda, and Ricci Harnett have delivered outstanding performances in “What’s Love Got To Do With It?,” “Rye Lane,” and “Love Without Walls,” respectively. Equally impressive are the nominees for Best Supporting Actress, including Emma Thompson, Poppy Allen-Quarmby, and Mara Huf, who have captivated audiences with their roles in “What’s Love Got To Do With It?,” “Rye Lane,” and “Tetris.”

 

 

In celebration of the 9th annual National Film Awards. The National Film Academy also announced the launch of it’s first-ever members social network platform. This groundbreaking platform will revolutionize the industry by allowing registered members to vote for the National Film Awards, apply for jobs, post job listings, and network with fellow film producers, directors, actors, and actresses. This platform is a pioneering initiative that aims to unite the entire film industry like never before.

Mark your calendars as the 9th annual National Film Awards is set to take place on July 3, 2023, at the prestigious Porchester Hall. The voting process is already underway and open to the public at www.nationalfilmacademy.org, providing film enthusiasts the opportunity to have their voices heard by casting their votes until June 27, 2023.  The awards show will be broadcast live on VooVix TV on the 3rd of July.
