Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Charisma Carpenter says reboot could do more harm than good

29 December 2011

With the proposed reboot to the cult classic Buffy the Vampire Slayer currently in limbo following the departure of screenwriter Whit Anderson, another co-star of the popular series has weighed in with their two cents on the idea.

Following Nicholas Brendan saying the new Buffy reboot is a "mistake" and Anthony Head describing the project as "a hideous idea", Charisma Carpenter who played Cordelia Chase on the hit supernatural show has also said it would not be a good idea.

The gorgeous actress who was last seen on the big screen in The Expendables tells Collider "My feeling is, 'Of course, they're doing it. It was successful'. But, to do it without Joss, it's just going to be really disappointing,

I feel like it could do more harm to the franchise than good, maybe it'll make people appreciate the original more. I don't know. But, it doesn't make much sense to do that, without any of the key players involved.

Why call it Buffy? They should just call it something else because it's not going to be the same thing."

Carpenter will next be seen in her recurring role of Ann Rebecca Sewell in Sara Shepard's The Lying Game and will be seen in Jeffery Scott Lando's science fiction horror Haunted High School alongside Machete hero Danny Trejo.
