Castle’s Nathan Fillion thinks he’s not famous enough for a sequel to Avengers Assemble
He's featured in television favourites including Two Guys and a Girl and a Pizza Place, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Castle but it would seem that Nathan Fillion has suggested that he might not be famous enough to feature in the sequel to Marvel Avengers Assemble.
The fan favourite actor who has worked with Joss Whedon on the aforementioned Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly as well as the big screen outing Serenity has been tipped to the lead role in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man, whom in comic lore was a founding member of The Avengers, but Fillion tells Digital Spy that he couldn't see himself ever featuring in the superhero sequel.
"I have to be honest. The entertainment industry is an industry. I love telling stories but finance does meet art. If I were in charge of an Avengers sequel I would be very concerned about what kind of money I could make back overseas, and these kinds of things.
I'm not quite at that level yet where I could just be plopped in there but I'm getting there.
I've had more than my fair share of Joss Whedon projects. I find it very difficult, even being the selfish kind of guy I am, to say 'give me more'."
Fillion is currently filming his role of Hermes in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters alongside Logan Lerman and can currently be seen on Channel 5 in the UK on the hit show Castle.
