Catherine Zeta Jones checks into mental health clinic

14 April 2011

Catherine Zeta Jones has undoubtedly had one of the toughest couple of years a wife can have. Standing by her husband during his battle against throat cancer, it's no doubt that the 'stressed out' star has apparently checked into a US mental health unit suffering from bipolar disorder.

Friends of the stunning welsh actress, 41, is understandably emotionally drained after going through the fear and stress of Michael Douglas's, 66, chemotherapy and radiation treatment, and now that he is on the mend it seems Catherine wants to start sorting out a few of her own issues before starting work again. Her spokesman has said;

''After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check into a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder. She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on two upcoming films.''

Catherine is due to star in Playing The Field, with Gerard Butler which is scheduled for release next year, but meanwhile is said to now be at home spending 'quality time' with her husband and their two children, Dylan 10 and Carys, 7.
