Channing Tatum debuts first trailer of Magic Mike XXL
The first trailer for the second instalment of Magic Mike was debuted yesterday by star Channing Tatum on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The trailer opens with Tatum working away in his garage till the music gets the better of him and the Mike we know emerges gyrating and popping all over the place.
The sequel will be take us back into the world of male strippers with Tatum Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Alex Pettyfer and Gabriel Iglesias reprising their roles alongside new additions Jada Pinkett Smith, Amber Heard, Stephen "tWitch" Boss and Michael Strahan. This time the boys are on the road embarking on a trade convention of sorts. In an interview with the Hollywood reporter Tatum said "it’s not a bunch of strippers in boots selling stripper stuff…it’s a road trip movie."
Magic Mike XXL is directed by Gregory Jacobs with the film’s first director, Steven Soderbergh, returning as editor and cinematographer though under his pseudonyms Mary Ann Bernard and Peter Andrews, respectively). The sequel was co-written by Tatum and Reid Carolin.
Magic Mike XXL will dance into cinemas on July 31 2015. Watch the trailer below, followed by the film's recently debuted poster.
