Charlize Theron boards Ridley Scott’s Prometheus
Fans of Charlize Theron can rejoice as the gorgeous south african actress is officially onboard Prometheus. The sexy Oscar winning actress known for her roles in films including Monster, Aeon Flux, Hancock and The Devil's Advocate will star alongside The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo's Noomi Rapace and X-Men: First Class actor Michael Fassbender.
Directed by legendary director Ridley Scott, the film began life as a prequel to Alien, however the prolific director revealed last month that the film has taken off into more original territory thanks to script work from Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof.
Speaking to MTV, Michael Fassbender elaborated on the directors earlier Alien link reveal by saying “There's a definite connecting vein. You realize you're part of something else, but it's definitely in keeping with the old ones. When I read it, I was like, 'Well, okay, another Alien. Where do you go with this idea?' And then I sort of read the script, and it's new, yet it's in keeping with the old traditions as well. But there's a whole new revelation within this film. "There's action in it. But the intelligence is what struck me when I read it. It's more sort of like the original ones. There are things happening and building, and the intelligence of the first two-thirds of the film gets you ready for the action."
With Theron joining the cast, Prometheus is shaping up to be very impressive, look out for the film when it arrives in cinemas on June 8 2012.
