27 November 2011

With The Dark Knight Rises coming to cinemas next year, Christian Bale who stars as the caped crusader has confirmed that it will be his last and that filming has wrapped.

The Oscar winning Welsh actor tells the Philippine Daily Inquirer "I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I'm taking that Batman mask off.

I believe that the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it's all done. Everything's finished. It's me and director Christopher Nolan - that will be the end of that Batman era."

He also believes in his co-star Anne Hathaway adding "In many ways, Hathaway has the hardest job. There are a number of people who feel that the Catwoman role has been defined previously, so I always saw Anne's role as being the toughest job of any of us."

The Dark Knight Rises hits cinemas on July 20 and features an all star cast of Bale and Hathaway with  Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Liam Neeson, Juno Temple, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy, Joey King, Matthew Modine, Nestor Carbonell, Brett Cullen,Tom Conti, Chris Ellis and Burn Gorman.
